Pre-Purchase and Building Construction Inspections

In 40 years Barry Bornstein has examined over 15,000 commercial, industrial, multi-family and single-family residences, such as;

·         For the Stephen Girard Estate, over 80 buildings, including office and commercial structures, industrial buildings across the State of Pennsylvania, many under long-term lease to various state agencies.

 

·         For Carnegie Development, construction punch-list inspection of a 23-story luxury high-rise condominium complex (The Carnegie Tower) in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

 

·         For O’Neill Properties, a construction punch-list inspection of the Corinthian, a 106 unit luxury condominium complex.

 

·         For Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Lurie, owners of the Philadelphia Eagles professional football team, we examined the main line estate (8 buildings) of former U.S. Ambassador Walter Annenberg which included a golf course.

 

·         For Philabundance, we examined several food distribution warehouse structures in the Philadelphia area.

Expert Testimony

·         For Morgan Lewis & Bockius (Larry L. Turner, Esquire), we served as their expert in the Park Dilks Estate case on a luxury residential matter.

 

·         For Richard M. Ochroch, Esquire, we served as his construction expert representing the plaintiff in the (Philadelphia) Chinatown fire case against the City of Philadelphia.

 

·         For Saul Ewing, we served as their expert in the Shaw’s Supermarket case in Worcester, Massachusetts (Shaw’s is owned by Acme Markets which is a division of Albertsons) a construction dispute case.

 

·         For the Law Department of the City of Philadelphia, we testified in the case brought by the Roxborough homeowners in regard to the water main break which severely damaged fourteen single-family residences.

 

·         For Dolchin, Slotkin & Todd, we served as their expert testifying on behalf of the City of Philadelphia in the case against the builder in the “sinking homes” at Regency Hill.

 

·         For Allan Domb, renowned Philadelphia condominium developer, a punch list inspection of The Warwick, nine (9) floors of condominium units converted from hotel occupancy.
